Brothers,

The semester has been off to a great start. We kicked off with our fall retreat. During the retreat I met with all the officers to set goals for the semester and the Beta, Graeme Radlo, met with all our committee chairs to do the same. Chapter wide we worked on leadership skills and teamwork through a visit to the ropes course and presentations by Professor Sinclair and Julie Sterrett. Planning from the weekend has already paid off. Friday September 16th we held a pancake dinner on our front porch from 9pm to 1am to raise money for the USO. Along with raising over $600 for charity, it was a great opportunity to meet potential recruits in a positive social setting. As Jay mentioned our new member education weekend starts on Friday October 14th at 6pm. This is always a special time for the actives and new members and we have really enjoyed alumni involvement in the past. In regards to recruitment, we are pushing to make occupancy, but we are in agreement as a brotherhood that we will not compromise our standards; in regards to academics, campus involvement, and personal integrity. I would like to invite everyone up to the house who hasn’t been since all the renovations were done last year. The house is beautiful and the actives take pride showing it off and giving tours to alumni and other students.

Thank you all again for your continuing support,

Fraternally,

Casey Atkins
